Curriculum
Introduction
The following are rough guides only. Specific curriculum is determined by the student's abilities and musical tastes. Items listed are not sequential. Students will usually be working on all items for each lesson. Also, there will be cases where a student will work on items from various different levels. Some listed items are commercially printed books which are available for purchase from EC Music and Guitar, LLC, while other listed items are studio prepared handouts that are included in your lesson fee.
Notes
There is a prevalence of tablature being used in guitar music today. I feel that tablature is helpful in earlier levels used in combination with scale exercises because it helps us to understand efficient fingerings particular to the guitar. However, beyond that it begins to become a hindrance. So, if you're serious about the guitar and feel that you are more than just a beginner, then start ignoring tablature, and become a proficient music reader.
